1. About This Site

JennifersLaw.org (the "Site") is an independent advocacy platform dedicated to judicial and legal system reform, documentation of judicial and attorney conduct, and public education about the experience of self-represented litigants. The organizational structure of this operation has not yet been finalized and may take the form of a limited liability company, a nonprofit corporation, or another legal entity; references in these Terms to "we" or "the Site operator" apply equally regardless of which structure is ultimately adopted.

2. Not Legal Advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes legal advice. The essays, articles, proposed reforms ("J-Laws"), case commentary, and any other content published on this Site are offered for informational, educational, and advocacy purposes only. Nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship, and nothing here should be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney regarding your specific legal situation. Legal outcomes depend heavily on jurisdiction, individual facts, applicable law, and most critically, whether the judge likes or dislikes you. No content on this Site should be treated as applicable to any particular case, including your own.

3. Opinion and Personal Experience

Much of the content on this Site — including personal accounts, essays, and commentary regarding named or unnamed judges, attorneys, and litigants — reflects the personal opinions, experiences, and perspective of the Site operator and of individual contributors. Statements of opinion are clearly the product of personal viewpoint and lived experience, not statements of adjudicated fact, unless expressly documented and cited as such.

4. User-Submitted Content

This Site allows visitors to submit personal stories, comments, poll responses, and other content ("User Content") through features such as the "Share Your Story" submission tool and community polls. By submitting User Content, you agree to the following:

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit.

The Site operator does not verify, endorse, investigate, or guarantee the accuracy of any User Content, and publication of User Content on this Site does not constitute an endorsement or confirmation of its truth by the Site operator.

The Site operator is not responsible or liable for any misrepresentation, inaccuracy, defamatory statement, or false claim made by a contributor within their submitted User Content.

You may voluntarily include supporting documentation or evidence with your submission, but you are not required to do so, and inclusion of such material does not shift responsibility for its accuracy away from you as the submitting party.

You retain ownership of your submitted content but grant the Site operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and distribute it on this Site and in connection with promoting this Site's mission.

You agree not to submit content that is knowingly false, that violates the rights of a third party, or that is submitted for the purpose of harassment rather than genuine documentation of experience.

The Site operator reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to review, edit, decline to publish, or remove any User Content at its sole discretion, at any time, without notice.

5. No Guarantee of Outcomes

This Site advocates for specific legal and judicial reforms. Nothing on this Site guarantees that any proposed reform will be adopted, that any specific legal outcome will occur, or that participation in any poll, quiz, debate invitation, or advocacy activity hosted on this Site will produce any particular result.

6. Intellectual Property

All original content on this Site — including the J-Laws, essays, articles, graphics, and the Site's name and logo — is the property of the Site operator unless otherwise noted, and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without written permission. You may share, quote, and link to this Site's content for non-commercial, educational, and advocacy purposes, provided you credit the Site as the source.

7. External Links and Third-Party Content

This Site may link to third-party websites, videos, or platforms (including social media channels). The Site operator does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site linked from this Site.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

This Site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of this Site, your reliance on any content published on this Site, or any User Content submitted by third parties, even if the Site operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Site operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your use of this Site, your submission of User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time as this Site and its underlying organizational structure evolve. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be directed to the contact form available on this Site.
